Study Twenty-One – Faith: The Key to Unlimited Treasure!

Introduction

In this Activating Faith Series, we’ve been talking a lot about faith, and we could go on and on. For us, every time we arrive at a place where we think we know a little bit about faith, the Holy Spirit opens a whole new insight into the wonders of faith in God!

As we are getting to the end of this study, I want to leave you with a final thought in these last two teaching studies: Faith is the doorway to abundance. It’s the key to unlimited treasure. Its laws of operations are sure, steadfast and as unchanging as Jesus has given us His faith – not just a portion of it, all of it. He did not give us only a portion of Himself. Everything He has and is has been given to us in full measure.

Colossians 2:3 says all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. Well, that’s where we are – in Him. Verses 9-10 of that same chapter are shouting ground: “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”

You have the same right to use the faith of God as Jesus does. After all, He’s as much your Father as He is Jesus’ Father. You’re as much His child as Jesus is. Does the scripture only say all things are possible with God? No, it also says all things are possible to the believer.

It is up to you and me just how far we go with what He has given us. The only limits placed on the growth of our faith are there because of us, not because the Father has limited it in any way. The growth of our faith is in direct proportion to the same time spent developing it. It’s not like the growth of natural things that have built-in limitations. Faith will continue to grow until it becomes however large it has to be to overcome whatever the storms of life bring against us.

Satan is limited. Everything, thank God, in this world of sin and death is defeated. Faith is unlimited. Why? Because its source is unlimited.

Faith is born out of The WORD Himself: “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by The WORD of God” (Romans 10:17). And that’s how we are born again. We are born again “not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by The WORD of God, which lives and abides for ever” (1 Peter 1:23). That’s why faith is so easy for the person who spends time in the WORD. It’s as natural to the life of the believer as swimming is to a fish. It’s what we were born to do – BELIEVE!

The Growth Process

The first step to victory and walking in God’s abundance is confidence in the growth process of the WORD. Jesus laid it out in Mark 4, summing it up in verses 26-29:

“And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

Notice the confidence in the growth process displayed by the man who sowed the seed. Remember, too, we’re talking about the seed being The WORD of God. It will produce if allowed to run its full course. Let’s look at it like this:

  1. The Seed – Find promises that cover your situation and exercise your faith. Believe you receive, and plant that WORD in your heart.
  2. Rest and Praise – The Sower in verse 27 did not lay awake at night worrying about whether or not the seed was growing. Don’t allow the devil to talk you out of resting in faith.
  3. The Blade – This is the first sign that the miracle is alive. It’s doing what it’s supposed to do. Stay with it.
  4. The Ear – Now it’s beginning to look like corn. Remember, there’s more going on beneath the soil than on top: roots, strength. Stay with rest and praise.
  5. The Full Ear of Corn – It really looks good! Don’t pick it while it’s still green. Let it develop and ripen. Don’t try to make something happen, like going into debt, etc. rest and praise.
  6. It’s Ripe. Harvest It! – You’ll know! The dream in your heart has taken upon itself faith, and it will be born.

Once you’ve sown the seed of The WORD in your inner man, don’t let it go. Read through Mark 4:14-20 and make note of five things that Jesus said the devil would use to try and stop the process.

  1. ________________________________________________________________________________
  2. ________________________________________________________________________________
  3. ________________________________________________________________________________
  4. ________________________________________________________________________________
  5. ________________________________________________________________________________

He has nothing new. He’s the same old devil, and you can stop him at every turn.

This is the way the 25 percent, who won their victories and received 30, 60 and a hundredfold, got there. God is no respecter of persons. Neither is His WORD. They all had the same opportunity, because it was The WORD that brought its own harvest. The WORD works when it’s put to work. Faith works. The Name of Jesus works.

There is a miracle in you right now crying to be born. All it needs is the seed of life – faith – the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

Rise up and take your place in this mighty outpouring of the Father’s glory. It’s happening now. Jump in! Get together with other believers. Get into the WORD. Minister to your neighbours.

As you finish the Activating Faith Series and continue your journey of faith, put the steps I’ve outlines above into practice in every area of your life, and share the message of faith with other people in need. Let them know God wants them to live abundant lives, too!
